Arrived quickly n packaged well. My son uses it for traveling to work the last mile after his train ride and he loves it. Rides nice and has enough power to get up big hills. Definitely happy with my purchase from Best Buy!

I’ve been using this scooter as my primary mode of transportation, and it has been a generally positive experience. The build quality is solid, and it handles my 220 lb weight without issue. However, there are some design aspects that may not suit everyone. The deck feels a bit cramped, especially for those with larger feet—my size 12 shoes sometimes lead to foot cramps on longer rides. When it comes to performance, the scooter delivers around 8 miles per charge at full throttle, which is decent for its price range. The regenerative braking system, while intended to enhance efficiency and extend the lifespan of the mechanical brakes, hasn’t been particularly impressive. In fact, I’ve found that turning the regenerative braking off and simply coasting results in better mileage, making me question the overall efficiency of regen braking. Ideally, there would be a secondary brake lever for regenerative braking, as toggling it on or off through the app isn’t the most intuitive. But given the price point, this isn’t a huge complaint. The suspension works well enough that I rarely think about it—when it’s doing its job, that’s exactly how it should be. Another strength of the scooter is the super-safe charging system, which adds a layer of reliability and peace of mind. However, the biggest drawback is the difficulty of repairs and finding replacement parts. I experienced a flat tire recently and quickly discovered that the tire size (9.5x2.3) isn’t easy to find. Replacement parts are sold out on NIU’s website and are scarce elsewhere. While some riders have successfully used a slightly wider tire (9.5x2.5), doing so would void the warranty, according to NIU. Furthermore, even simple repairs like fixing a flat tire require sending the entire scooter back to NIU if you want to maintain your warranty. This is a major inconvenience and could be a dealbreaker for people who value the warranty, as I do. In addition, I’ve encountered a few issues with the app. Specifically, the ride tracking feature has never worked properly. The speedometer also resets back to kilometers per hour instead of miles per hour on its own, which can be frustrating. Occasionally, random error codes appear, but all I’ve had to do is reset the app, unpair my phone, and re-pair it, and the scooter works perfectly fine again. It may sound like all I’m doing is complaining about the scooter, but despite these issues, I would still definitely recommend it. It delivers great performance, reliability, and value, and with a few improvements, it could be a near-perfect scooter for its price. This version includes your note about still recommending the scooter despite the issues. Let me know if you’d like any more changes!
