I bought this scooter for daily commuting and it has exceeded my expectations. It is easy to use, comfortable, and well built. The battery lasts a long time and it works perfectly for short and medium trips. Great quality for the price. I highly recommend it.

Runs super smooth, my main concern was the weight limit on a budget friendly scooter, but this one holds up to 265lbs, which is pretty good for a tall person like myself. And super easy to store with its foldable design.

I purchased this scooter as a birthday gift for someone special and they loved it from the second they laid eyes on it, when they read the manual they loved how it connects to their phone through the NIU app, and how it fits in their sedan trunk (anyone who owns a sedan knows how small the trunks are). I would purchase this again!

Arrived quickly n packaged well. My son uses it for traveling to work the last mile after his train ride and he loves it. Rides nice and has enough power to get up big hills. Definitely happy with my purchase from Best Buy!

My son broke his arm when he drove past a road where there wasn't much water and he slipped. I don't think it's a very good product for braking.

Bought as a Xmas present for my sons. They love it. A bit disappointed that the directional lights are not functional on this model though it's not a deal breaker. My son rides this to his part-time job site daily now. Much faster than riding a traditional bicycle. The front suspension is the reason I chose this scooter for a comfortable ride. Can't speak for its longevity and battery life. I just don't want to use the NIU app due to privacy concerns as the app apparently collects all the accessible data on your phone. Note NIU is a Chinese company. The app isn't really needed.

I’ve been using this scooter as my primary mode of transportation, and it has been a generally positive experience. The build quality is solid, and it handles my 220 lb weight without issue. However, there are some design aspects that may not suit everyone. The deck feels a bit cramped, especially for those with larger feet—my size 12 shoes sometimes lead to foot cramps on longer rides.
When it comes to performance, the scooter delivers around 8 miles per charge at full throttle, which is decent for its price range. The regenerative braking system, while intended to enhance efficiency and extend the lifespan of the mechanical brakes, hasn’t been particularly impressive. In fact, I’ve found that turning the regenerative braking off and simply coasting results in better mileage, making me question the overall efficiency of regen braking. Ideally, there would be a secondary brake lever for regenerative braking, as toggling it on or off through the app isn’t the most intuitive. But given the price point, this isn’t a huge complaint.
The suspension works well enough that I rarely think about it—when it’s doing its job, that’s exactly how it should be.
Another strength of the scooter is the super-safe charging system, which adds a layer of reliability and peace of mind.
However, the biggest drawback is the difficulty of repairs and finding replacement parts. I experienced a flat tire recently and quickly discovered that the tire size (9.5x2.3) isn’t easy to find. Replacement parts are sold out on NIU’s website and are scarce elsewhere. While some riders have successfully used a slightly wider tire (9.5x2.5), doing so would void the warranty, according to NIU. Furthermore, even simple repairs like fixing a flat tire require sending the entire scooter back to NIU if you want to maintain your warranty. This is a major inconvenience and could be a dealbreaker for people who value the warranty, as I do.
In addition, I’ve encountered a few issues with the app. Specifically, the ride tracking feature has never worked properly. The speedometer also resets back to kilometers per hour instead of miles per hour on its own, which can be frustrating. Occasionally, random error codes appear, but all I’ve had to do is reset the app, unpair my phone, and re-pair it, and the scooter works perfectly fine again.
It may sound like all I’m doing is complaining about the scooter, but despite these issues, I would still definitely recommend it. It delivers great performance, reliability, and value, and with a few improvements, it could be a near-perfect scooter for its price.
This version includes your note about still recommending the scooter despite the issues. Let me know if you’d like any more changes!

This scooter checked all of my boxes. It is rear wheel drive, has front suspension, air tires, and very fast for its size. Handles rough sidewalks great and after 3 months of use, no flat tires. I had a Segway previously and would pop a tire every month it seemed like.

Right out of the box, the KQi 100P catches your eye because it doesn’t feel cheap at its price point. For a sub-$400 (in many markets) scooter, it ticks a lot of boxes. The clean minimalist design, reasonably decent build quality, and features you don’t always expect at this price stand out. According to specs: 17.4 mph top speed, up to ~18 miles of range, ~243 Wh battery, 9.5″ × 2.3″ pneumatic tires, front drum brake + rear regenerative brake.

Bought this for my husband as a christmas gift. He had a regular scooter that he uses everyday at work. He has to park far from his job and so he uses the scooter to ride to the main office. He loves it. It rides smooth and can go pretty fast too. The flashlight is very useful when its dark or foggy. Easy to fold and transport back and fourth out of the car. Charging is simple too. Overall, great purchase

At first I wasn't sure about this scooter, but it's won me over. It's a good value. The range and speed are good. One thing to pay attention to is hills and weight. I'm larger (230lbs) and sometimes put some groceries in a backpack, and some hills are a little bit of a challenge, though they are fairly steep in some case. They are also a little quirky with the occasional fleeting error though no full failure or breakage.
So if you're using this a bit more as a daily user to go some distance and have some hills and weight, I'd consider the more expensive one. This one might work but it's right at the edge of what this scooter is capable of. That said, it's super fun and enjoyable to use and I've come to the conclusion that I made the right choice.

Bought this for my 10 year old grandson. Thought it might be big but it’s perfect. Very well built and easy to use and it seems very safe. And or course all the adults in the family riding it as well. It does hit 18 mph on a full charge.
