Not good for lectures. I bought this for school to record my lessons and it barley picked up my voice even when I was yelling in the mic!! I returned it immedietly and got my money back. Olympus has good reviews but this cheapest one they have really stinks. Dont buy it, you will waiste your money.

This is a nice little recorder. It's compact and has good sound quality. I lost most of a recording when it was in the vcva mode so I don't use it at all, otherwise it's been fine for taking recorded statements.
