Onkyo - Amplifier - 100 W RMS - 2 Channel - Black

Fifty Great Reasons to Choose an Onkyo

IIf you're looking to get the best possible audio performance on a limited budget-and something you can use to power audio from your TV, Blu-ray player, turntable, and CD player-then the TX-8020 is for you. Passing over the extras you don't need in favor of purely musical analog power, it remains versatile enough to serve at the heart of your home entertainment system. Onkyo's WRAT delivers 50+50 W of power, with discrete output stage circuitry and a high current, low-impedance drive to effortlessly handle the most demanding loads. The sound is characteristic of the veteran hi-fi brand, with lively dynamics, a sweet and natural mid-range, and accurate timing for all kinds of music. And just like the cool vintage receivers in its genealogy, the TX-8020 has bass, treble, and balance controls as well as speaker A/B posts for multi-room setups. Add a pair of bookshelf or floorstanding speakers of your choice, connect your media players and TV-perhaps including the DS-A5 RI dock with AirPlay-and be treated to the kind of full-scale, broad-spectrum performance a soundbar couldn't hope to match.

When my 20+ year old receiver died, I needed a replacement that could accommodate my rebuilt Dual 522 turntable, so I fired up my web browser and did some homework. I learned that this Onkyo was one of the best options in its price range. It's handled everything I've thrown at it - LPs and CDs of several genres, likewise cassettes, even TV audio (with an additional digital adapter. As they used to say on the TV - try it, you'll like it!

    Great receiver for efficient speakers

I use my TX-8020 receiver to drive a pair of NHT SuperOne 2.1's, inefficient acoustic suspension speakers, in my 11' x 12' office, my source being a C-7030 CD player. The Klipsch KB-15 speakers I have are awaiting another TX-8020 for a larger room. The sound is clean and will get loud enough for me. The receiver is great for FM use, too... at least as sensitive as my old Yamaha. Just a real bargain in a good stereo receiver!

Our Pioneer amplifier finally died after 41 years of use. We went to Best Buy to replace it, and our salesperson was very helpful in finding us a great replacement. We didn't need all the bells and whistles, just a straightforward amp. We had it shipped to us in 4 days, and are very pleased with its performance.

I didn't need blue tooth or USB connectivity so I purchased the TX8020. I'm very pleased with the sound and easy to use controls, remote and back end connections. I paired the TX8020 with a pair of Klipsch R-15M speakers for knock dead sound at both low and high volume.

I was looking for a basic good quality unit and that is exactly what I got. It was simple to set up and operate even for this senior. The sale price was excellent and did not break this senior on a fixed budget.

Not all modestly priced receivers have a phono input, so if you enjoy vinyl albums, this is a good product to consider. It is quite adequate for typical residences. I've been very pleased with it.

My wife needed an amplifier for her CD's and this unit worked fine. My only complaint is that they should have put an optical receptacle on this unit like they have on the European units.
