Not as good as most Le Carre spy thrillers

My Kind of Traitor is a bit disappointing when we have such an abundance of good Le Carre adaptations, not least the recent The Night Manager or even the updated Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy from a few years ago. Stellan Skarsgard is entertaining but a little too broad; Naomie Harris fails to make much of an impression, Damian Lewis is compelling but also deadly serious, and Ewan MacGregor is a perfectly sympathetic protagonist while reaching nowhere close to his best work. One gets the feeling the director was confused as to what the story is really about. It looks gorgeous, and will pass the time just fine if you catch it on cable.

I was really interested in seeing this movie. I purchased it and rushed home to view it --I was woefully disappointed. Fortunately, it wasn't to expensive. It's a very slow developing movie with a few redeeming qualities but unfortunately not nearly enough for me to recommend this film to anyone else. But if you really must see it-- wait for it to come on HBO or something do not invest in purchasing it.

This movie was interesting, but the plot was a little trusted. Why would an established man with a well established wife be such a follower? Doesn't make since that he would given in to such dangerous peer pressure with people he never met. Some parts were very predictable. Kind of dumb!!!!

for whatever reasons movies based on John Le Carrie spy thrillers tend to be slow. this is no exception. i guess you could call this "a thinking man's spy thriller." and yet the exceptional cast helps the procedings going. slow byt worthwhile.

Our Kind of Traitor is John Le Carre at near his very best. He has written more Top Notch Spy Thrillers then anyone who has ever walked the Earth. He left MI6 in the early 60's, and for 50 years has been the best Spy writer on Earth.

This movie was better than I expected even after reading the reviews on IMDB. There was plenty of suspense and surprise, and the acting was more than adequate. If you like action movies you will enjoy this all the way to the end.

Some tense moments, many dull ones and a few preposterous turns make this a less successful Le Carre adaptation than the others. It's kind of middle drawer, not bad but uninspired
