Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i have purchased a lot of PNY products over the years & have yet to experience any problems nor encounter any difficultys ... as a matter of fact, i still have my first flash drive ; a PNY with a whole big 1gb of storage LOL !!! and if i recall correctly, that little bad boy cost $10 !!! but it still works perfectly and i cannot remember how many linux live distros i have installed on it nor the sheer amount of apps i have loaded in it thru the years ... PNY quality is like the steak-sauce : A-1 ... God bless you all @ PNY & thx 4 the gr8 products !!!

Compact and Functions Well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a quick purchase for a flash drive. This one works well to suit my needs, mainly to just store backup files on. Easy to carry around and has a hole to connect to a keyring or cord. Great purchase for the price.

Great drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This flash drive is very easy to use, like most drives. Push it open, pop it in the USB port, and get going. For the capacity, the price on this flash drive was beyond worth it. I purchased this drive for my car. It has a USB port for charging and hooking up phone/iPod/whatever else, but I just stuck the drive in the port. Accesses the songs a lot more quickly than the CD player and instead of hooking/unhooking an MP3 player after every ride, I simply leave the drive in the port. 8gb seems to be more than enough, at least for now. If you're on the fence about purchasing, jump over and pick one up...definitely worth it.

Used over 5 years, still perfect!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this USB stick over 5 years ago, when these cost a lot more per GB than now (12/2017). I have used it a LOT. Many THOUSANDS of read/writes and possibly several 100's of reformats. I have never lost a file or had a file corrupted. There have been ZERO read/write errors. It's a quality product. I've stayed with PNY for memory products and have never been disappointed with price or quality.

Very Useful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The flash drive came in very handy when I brought it with me to my vacay in Canada. My family and relatives took pictures using their own cameras/phones and when it came to uploading the pictures I was the only one with the flash drive. They uploaded it all in my flash drive and I sent a copy to them when I came back to Cali. I am a happy camper as well as my family.

Small but has a lot of room for photo's and doc's!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 10 of these to transfer family photo's to and they work great! Have a lot of room for literally thousands of photo's. I'm scanning in all of the family photo albums and putting them on these drives so that everyone in the family can have a copy of all of our photo's for the last 70 years. The price was the lowest I've ever seen, too, so that was a big plus.

It works, it's cheap, and... it's cheap.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, it does its purpose and works well. However, I almost feel like it's going to break on me relatively soon, but then again, that's just a feeling. The reason being is that the USB is very plastic. Even the tip of the USB, that gets inserted into the computer, is made out of plastic. I feel like I can easily bend it. It's really weird because typically those parts are made out of metal and they feel a lot sturdier. I'm not sure why this one is made from plastic. Anyways, it's cheap, works okay (average, not fast or anything), but it works if you need to store some basic files. I would recommend getting two, just in case, because you never know if one will break, so it's good to have back-up files on another one. It's actually good to have two USBs anyways, I've actually learned this recently, because someone can break yours, regardless of the quality. Also, USBs get lost.... so it's good to have the spare laying around with all the files on it. So transfer and back-up your files regularly.

Q: Questionwhat's the best product to use for backing up your computer
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer An external hard drive. Since portable drives are so cheap now I use them over desktop external drives because you don't need an external power source. They're powered from your USB port on your Pc, and very easy to carry with you and use from Pc to Pc. .They're very small, about the size now of a pack of cigarettes. I prefer using external drives over storing my info in cloud services. I have no idea how safe my info is from prying eyes in cloud storage services.

Q: QuestionCan Best Buy find/sell me an 8GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive that performs at or near 190MBs per sec. R/W transfer speeds?.. And if so, for how much?If possible., Keeping any search efforts for this item limited to my specific description above.(or closest alternative) works for me. By doing so, can hopefully keep my price point down to a minimum. "No Bling is a good thing" if you follow my meaning. Just to be more specific.., One (new) 8GB - USB 3.0 - Flash Drive, supporting data transfer rates in the area of: Read-180MBs/Write-180MBps., plus or minus - 20MBs, is acceptable. My intention of use: Install my O.S.'s boot record in the above USB 3.0 Flash Drive, allowing me to effectively boot up Windows externally. Better known as an "external boot device..," A USB 3.0 boot option should be faster than the standard "Primary Drive" scenario, freeing up my currently installed, SSD/SATA, formerly applied as an "internal boot drive." This allows for the SSD drive taking the role as C: Primary Drive, etc. This is why a smaller capacity, faster transfer rate, flash drive, is desired for my needs. Thank you for any results you can provide. Positive results can lead towards purchase. Note... I would be interested in seeing your closest results for the USB item I described, even though it may not be within my exact description. Only for the chance that it may fall into a tolerable compromise for purchase. Again, Thank you.

- A:Answer the sandisk extreme series of usb 3.0 flash drives will satisfy your thirst, but i question that it would be any faster than a good SSD... also, from a point of security, would there not be a compromise as the UEFI would not be an integral part of that setup oln the USB since it is @ the hardware level ? lemme throw this atcha : i have a gateway ne56r34u notebook w/ 8gb PNY RAM & and a 120gb PNY SSD running windoze 10 tech prevu + it cold-boots (from off NOT sleep) in 7-seconds ... whatever u do, many blessings + i hope u get your machine 2 do what u want it 2 do !!! (btw, PNY also makes a line of superfast usb 3.0 drives called turbo)
