Cook up to 70 percent faster than traditional methods with one of eight preprogrammed or manual pressure cooking settings, or use the crock as a classic slow cooker if there's no rush. With the added ability to steam, brown, or saute, this Crock-Pot 8-quart express crock multi-cooker makes it easy to create one-pot meals.
Q: Does the pot have to be full to use? I'm looking at the 8Qt but only cook for 2 most of the time.
A: All you need is one cup of water and top it or fill it as you wish, a lot or a little! 8 Qts is the best size, you will never have an overflow with anything. We cook for 2 and the pot stays about half full. The food taste unbelievable.
A: Yes. It has a sear function that works really well. I seared 2lb of diced steak then added tomatoes, onion, pepper, beans etc to make a chilli and changed the setting to pressure cook. It did a perfect job.
Q: Does this work like an instant pot
A: Yes. It has both the capabilities to pressure cook like a instant pot or to slow cook like a crock pot. I bought this to replace my instant pot because I found that I was continually switching out my instant pot and my crock pot Now I do not have to switch them out.
A: It does not have a browning feature. It does have a sear feature you can use to sear your meat and then cook it the rest of the way in any of the settings. The liquid will remain liquid as in any other form of cooking. It is so easy to switch the cooking mode to simmer once the meat is finished and thicken the liquid for gravy or sauce, or whatever.
Q: Does this pot have a air fryer type setting?
A: No, this pot does not have an air fryer type setting.
Q: Is this the 10-in-1 with 16 smart programs Model Ultra60?
A: The one I got is the Express Crock XL. It has 14 cooking options. Very pleased with it!
Q: What option. Do I use to cook a steak
A: There is a setting for Stew/Meat. I would recommend this, but you are not going to get the results that you would from a grill or searing in a pan.
Q: where do i find the additional cook ware needed for the recipes in the cookbook?
A: I bought the 8" spring pan (for cheesecakes) on Amazon. They also sell replacement parts for your cooker if ever needed.
