• Selectable using the menu feature of the TV for headphones. Headphone, internal, and external speakers are selectable with this TV.

• Yes, there is an AUTO setting in the Audio menu: Auto/On/Off. The Auto setting turns the speakers off when you plug headphones or external PC speakers into the 3.5mm Headphone Jack. I'm using a pair of HP USB-powered PC speakers with Volume and Tone Control, and the TV's USB port powers the speakers.
