Q: QuestionI need to replace a GE model JE2160SF001 and the trim kit that was installed with it. My cutout is 25 1/2" wide, 16 3/4" high and 24 " deep. Any recommendations for a large microwave and trim kit that would fit that space?

• A:Answer Hello there - Great question! A built-in capable countertop microwave will list the 27" and 30" trim kit for that model in the product specifications. The only difference between the 27" and 30" trim kit is the trim frame. If the microwave is installed over a 27" or 30" wall oven, be sure to match the trim kit width to the wall oven. The overall height of a microwave includes the feet. Only the face/front of the microwave (excluding the feet) will be seen through the opening of the trim kit frame. Therefore, the opening of the frame is slightly shorter in height than the overall height of the microwave. The part numbers for the 27" and 30" trim kits are 27": JX9152SJSS 30": JX9153SJSS. • A:Answer We truly appreciate your time and for your interest in our microwave and trim kits. We're happy to help! The trim kit you reached out about is not compatible with the microwave you currently own, and we apologize for any frustration or inconveniences this may cause. Your microwave is compatible with the 27" JX7227SFSS or the 30" JX7230SFSS. The trim kit that your current microwave uses is also not compatible with the microwaves we manufacture today. In this case, we recommend either the PEB9159SJSS or PEM31SFSS. While the PEB9159SJSS is slightly deeper than your current model, it is the closest size-wise to your current microwave. The PEB9159SJSS uses either the 27" JX9152SJSS or the 30" JX9153SJSS while the PEM31SFSS uses either the 27" JX827SFSS or the 30" JX830SFSS trim kits. • A:Answer Hello there - thank you for checking in with us on this. Unfortunately, this trim kit will not work with the microwave you mentioned (JES1145SHSS). That model does not have built-in capabilities, as it is a countertop model and it does not have a compatible trim kit. It also has specific air clearances necessary for it to operate properly and those are: 3 inches on each side, 3 inches on the top, and 1 inch in the rear.
