A:AnswerThe plastic pin in the back plugs into the ground hole in the bottom outlet for stability. I would recommend using this unit on an outlet that does not have the test/reset as those outlets types are for use around water to prevent electrical surges. I don't recommend using this product in areas where water would be present (i.e. bathroom, kitchen, etc).
A:AnswerYes you can plug a regular plug into it and Yes it does plug into a regular outlets. At first my son couldn't get it to fit right but my boyfriend got it to fit. As for plugs only going in half way, well, we had that problem as well. You just have to push it hard in there and after a couple of times of using it, problem gone. I love this product and wish I had it along time ago. It's awesome and as I said. I love it. Hope I was helpful.
A:AnswerYes. And iPad, and battery chargers, Apple watch, electric razor, electric toothbrush, etc. :) I've got all plugged in right now, and it's humming along nicely.
A:AnswerI don't know if this answer will help you now, since your trip has already passed. But for anyone else facing a similar issue, I wouldn't recommend it. My answer is not based on this particular item, but on a different USB/AC adapter. I was recently in South Africa and tried to plug a block similar to this one into a wall using the appropriate S.A. adapter. Heard a loud pop and then the lights went out. My dad used a regular old power strip in his room and had no issues. Guess you can always take both, and use the power strip as a backup.
