Pretty much pure awesomeness
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My house was struck by lightning just last week. The outlet this was plugged into - fried. The surge protector? Fried. The 2 iPhones, 2 Kindles, and MS Surface that were plugged into said surge protector? All A-ok!! To think that little thing took the hit of a lightning strike and not just a power surge - and still saved all of my electronics is nothing short of amazing. He gave up his life to his duty to protect others. Rest in Peace, little buddy.

Bought to Have USB Ports in a Kitchen Area.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought to Have 3 USB Ports in a Kitchen Area, plus a few extra AC Plugs. - It did seem a bit overpriced.., but it does have a quality look to the design, compared to some other cheaper looking, and cheaper priced similar type items. The 3 USB ports are Useful to Me (in Our Kitchen Area) to Charge my Garmin Fēnix 5S Smartwatch every 2 weeks or so.., and our Two iPhone's Regularly, and the Few extra plugs are used to Charge 4 Outdoor (Yard) Equipment Rechargeable Batteries (You do cover up an existing 2 plug outlet, so you Gain Two Extra 120vac Outlet Plugs). The only thing it is missing is a long mount screw in the center of the 4 120vac Plugs area, so it would be Firmly held into the 120vac outlet that you choose to plug it into... When you pull an AC plug out, it will pull the device Out of the wall outlet power plug.. Not really a big deal, once you note (the first time this happens) that you Need to hold this adapter device, as you Remove AC Plugs from it.. (hence the 4 Star Review).

Sturdy product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a pretty straight forward product. You get what you see. If you are looking to expand a two-plug outlet with four plugs and three USB ports, this is exactly what this product provides. It is a sturdy product and we really like having the USB ports and not having to have an extra USB/plug transformer to charge our devices. The only issues, which are minimal, is that (1) there is no way to screw it in, which means that sometimes the unit comes out of the wall when you are trying to disconnect something plugged into it. Not a big deal. and (2) occasionally we have difficulties getting a plug to fit into one of the electrical outlets. I haven't figure out what's wrong, but usually a little bit of force fixes the issue... or we use another set of holes instead. Overall, this is exactly what we were looking for and are enjoying the extra plugs and USB ports.

Ran out of extension cords.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could not find any extra extension cords at my house. I went out shopping and came across this Insignia 4 outlet power hub that has 3 USB units for charging the tablets, cell phones, etc. This comes with a power surge protection. This hub just plugs into the outlet. No more cords to deal with that are on the floor. Since it is higher up than the floor plugging in USB items to charge is easier. You no longer have to get those extra long USB cords to plug your items into a extension cords that sit on the floor. This is the one item that I would buy more of to replace those extension cords. Just think - just one of these you went from a 2 plug outlet to a 4 plug outlet with surge protection and 3 USB Ports.

Basically useless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, first of all, this is described as having "2.1 amps to allow for fast charging" which I was excited for because I wouldn't need to use my wall adapter to fast charge my phone. This is not the case, the usb ports do not fast charge. I didn't think it was a huge problem, so I plugged in my average-sized Samsung wall adapter to find that nothing else will fit into the ajcent socket. In fact, if you attempt to plug anything but a small cord into this, nothing else will fit. Xbox cords, nightlights, chargers, adapters.. So, in essence, I'm back to only having 2 accessible outlets; granted, with surge protection.

Just what grandpa needed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Grandpa's house is somewhat challenged when it comes to electrical outlets. Grandpa and Grandma are now accruing various tablets and whatnot which are a vital necessity if you live 500 miles away and you need dote on the grandchildren. This was just the ticket! It allows the Grands to keep the charging cords plugged in without losing a precious outlet to a (horrifyingly unsightly!) charging brick. With Grandma, it's all about losing the horrifyingly unsightliness and clutter. Now Grandpa can sleep in peace in front of the TV with the tablet in one hand and a phone in another and not be disturbed by Grandma's grousing about unsightly cords and finding unsightly cords and needing an unsightly cord and whatnot. Among other things. At least for a little while.

Good product, but be aware...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this since it has both 4 outlets and 2 usb connection that are separate. That way I need not use 2 of the plugs just to charge the phone. Works well- THe only problem is if you are going to try to use this in someplace like the bathroom (as I wanted) and you have a GFIC outlet there. It will not fit in that given that the spacing is a tiny bit more between the 2 outtel plugs in the wall. You could break off the stabilizer that inserts into the 2nd socket, which we did with the last one we got, but then it (obviously) is not as stable to plug things into. Otherwise works great. Would recommend without reservations as long as it is a "normal" plug/

Q: QuestionWhy does this power hub have plastic pin on the bottom in the back? Since my wall power outlets have test/reset buttons and have different space between them than what this hub has, I am not able to use it!!
Asked by Silvermask.
- A:Answer The plastic pin in the back plugs into the ground hole in the bottom outlet for stability. I would recommend using this unit on an outlet that does not have the test/reset as those outlets types are for use around water to prevent electrical surges. I don't recommend using this product in areas where water would be present (i.e. bathroom, kitchen, etc).

Q: QuestionI can't plug a regular plug into this! This is very odd but the plugs simply dont go in! What am I doing wrong? They go about 1/2 way in and then don't go any further, two prong plugs
Asked by Douglas.
- A:Answer Yes you can plug a regular plug into it and Yes it does plug into a regular outlets. At first my son couldn't get it to fit right but my boyfriend got it to fit. As for plugs only going in half way, well, we had that problem as well. You just have to push it hard in there and after a couple of times of using it, problem gone. I love this product and wish I had it along time ago. It's awesome and as I said. I love it. Hope I was helpful.
