• The surge protector plugs into a normal AC power outlet, plug into the top outlet and then you’re able to plug multiple things into the surge protector and anything with a usb charge

• I see no reason to use the screw, unless the outlet is old If it’s snug when you plug it in, you’re good. I have installed two without the screw with no problems.

• No - i just plugged mine in and it works fine. It is a good, basic unit that has good outlet spacing and is reliable. No fancy features, but in most cases, extra features don't really add any value.
