“Everything checks out for me with this TV but the peak brightness. 400 nits seems pretty low considering all of this TV's color enhancing features (higher peak brightness levels are needed for HDR to really have an effect). Worth it or no? Let me know!”

I wrestled with the same concerns. I was also concerned about the number of local areas of dimming, in the end, I decided on this TV over it’s TCL rival. I am happy with the purchase. I was coming from an old 720P plasma so this image by comparison was great. I was going to wait until Black Friday but Best Buy had it for $349. I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Good TV at a great price. I also picked up the sound bar too. Definitely, helps because like any flat panel TV these days, the built in speakers needed some help from a sound bar.

This tv was one of the first to come out with hdr, 4k, and 240 motion. It has alot but it wasn't calibrated correctly to me, more like a rush to production to capitalize on the know available tech on all major brands.
