Not for music. But music sounds great with earphones or external powered speakers.

No not at all. It is what you would expect for a low cost tablet, and it is on the quiet side. I use the Bluetooth feature and play music on a nice Bluetooth speaker, or you can use wired or Bluetooth headphones. Otherwise you will need to find an expensive tablet that advertises a premium sound and speaker system, in my opinion.
