A:Answer Yes, those spacers could be left out during assembly, however it would possibly compromise the structural integrity of the top that supports the weight of you tv. If your TV isn't very heavy I don't see it being an issue. This cabinet is built very sturdy. I shopped around a lot before deciding to purchase this one.
