“This might be a dumb question but if I wanted to do school work would I need a PC as well or could I somehow do schoolwork on it if I connect it to my Xbox?”

No I would recommend you get a laptop or pc as a tech person don’t use your xbox it wouldn’t provide sufficient speed for multiple tasks so get a pc or laptop
