• A:Answer I just installed this today after seeing your question. At first, it stated it could not recognize the video card and maxed out all the graphics. Needless to say there was a consistent video lag. Switching graphics down to medium and also enabling laptop mode seemed to be the sweet spot with smooth gameplay. Cant say for custom content.

• A:Answer If it's powerful enough to game with, then it should be fine for college. I find the lighted keyboard very useful. It is compact, but not light weight. It really depends on what you plan to do with it. Some universities have very specific IT requirements. Wish I had this laptop when I was in college.
