“Should I get this model or the newer r5? I like the screens refresh rate, gsync, and 1440p specs but the newer r5 supposedly has better cooling, better processor, and a bigger ssd on bestbuy...what's anyone thoughts about either of them thanks!”

I can say this; The cooling on this system is not an issue. This model runs great. I can't speak for which model you should buy, but I can say this one is awesome.

Please try again later.The new R5 does have better cooling and the specs are a step above the R4 But I went with the R4 because it was more than half the price of the new R5. I couldn’t be happier with my decision. It is a power computer that has handled everything have thrown at it( GTA 5, Battlefield 1 and 4, Battlefront 2, Rainbow Six Siege, etc). If you can spare the extra coin on the R5 do it! If you want to save some money the R4 won’t disappoint. You can also add stores with M.2 SSD later on.
