“The remote with my 4K firestick will not power off the tv and the volume controls and mute buttons will not work. It does work to navigate the apps and other firestick functions, just have to have the second remote to control volume and tv.”

Yes it should work. I did it myself. I went on line and there was a video showing each step.

Go to home screen then settings then equipment control then you can either set up equipment again, or manage equipment. *If the TV is not compatible, some features may not be possible.
