  • QuestionIt says "WITH ADS", what kind of ads, how many and how long are the ads. What"WITH ADS", do you save in the way of time and money?

    Asked by MRootBeer.

    • Answer Hello, MRootBeer. The ads are on the lock screen of the Kindle while it is not in use. They are not ads that you have to watch, but are present when the Kindle is locked and not in use. Once you unlock the Kindle and begin using it, the ads go away. There are a variety of different ads, but they are mostly for different things you can read on the Kindle. If you want to remove the ads, you can do that from your Amazon account after purchasing the Kindle and registering it to your account. There is a small fee for doing so, but it removes the ads completely. Here are the steps to remove the ads: 1. Go to Manage Your Content and Devices. 2. Select Devices, and then select your device. 3. Under Special Offers, click Remove offers. A pop-up window then displays the price to remove special offers. 4. Select End Offers and Pay the Fee to proceed. I hope that helps. Have a great day!

  • QuestionHi, does "with special offers" mean the same as "with ads"? If no, what are the special offers referring to?

    Asked by AmarB0803.

    • Answer Hello, AmarB0803! Yes, those are the same thing. The special offers (or ads) are just suggestions for books when the Kindle Paperwhite is on its lock screen. Have a great day!

  • QuestionWhich 10th generation case will fit?

    Asked by Danni.

    • Answer Hello Danni! As long as the case shows that it is compatible with the 2018 release or 10th generation Kindle "Paperwhite" (specifically) then it would be compatible. There are some 3rd party universal cases that may work as well as long as it says it fits most 6" e-readers. The cases for the Kindle Oasis or standard Kindle are not compatible. I hope this helps with your question and you have a great day!

  • QuestionHow much does an 8GB hold book wise?

    Asked by Emmmm.

    • Answer Hello, Emmmm! Thanks for your question about Kindles! 8 GB of space would hold roughly 6,000 books. This will vary because each book takes up a different amount of space. If you end up running out of space, you can delete downloaded books from the device and download new ones. The great thing about this is that all of your books that you have purchased through the Kindle store will stay available in your library to download and read again later! I hope that information helps. Have a great day!

  • QuestionCan this kindle be used for audio books?

    Asked by Frankie.

    • Answer Yes, I believe so from reading on this, through bluetooth to a speaker, but many say it is just as easy to do this through their smart phone. I know it is supposed to hold audiobooks, and the 32GB is great to have in that case.

There are even 10 different fonts you can choose from and can even invert from light background and black lettering to black background and light lettering to use in darker settings. • QuestionHave a question before I buy one, does my kindle come with a charger and if not, what would be the best to buy for my tenth generation paperwhite. Also, what type of case would you recommend? And does the paperwhite have a volume bottom for the ads?

    Asked by Maddie101.

    • Answer Hello, There is no volume, but it does have Bluetooth capability for sound. The Paperwhite does have a specific cover, if you search Best Buy they have a few options listed. It comes with a power cord to charge that you would plug into any USB wall block to give it power. Hope that info helps.

  • QuestionAre Kindles returnable

    Asked by Angie.

    • Answer Depends where you buy it from, what that store's policy and conditions are. For discontinued Kindles, if you buy it from Amazon, there is no warranty even if refurbished, but read the info on the item and look for "Free Returns".

  • QuestionCan I get on the net and do things like on a tablet? YouTube, Gmail, searches, shop, that kind of thing.

    Asked by Dawn.

    • Answer No. The most you can do is look at and shop for other ebooks, and download them. You need a tablet to do the other things. However, this specialty is fine with me, as it is easier on the eyes with a good resolution. Amazon Fire is such a device.

  • QuestionIs this item with or without ADs?

    Asked by JoeyB.

    • Answer The title says it has ads "Ad-Supported",and they appear on the "lock screen" when powered off and the bottom of each page (though some say you can suppress those). You can't have your current book cover displayes as lock screen image, and the ads are book-related so no so obnoxious. However know that for $15 or $20 you can get them removed through Amazon customer service (go to Help and keep saysing "something else" until they give you a choice for a representative or agent)

  • QuestionWhat does “with ads” mean? Will advertisements interrupt my reading?

    Asked by Ari.

    • Answer They do not interrupt reading. They are book-related ads that show up on the lock screen (when it times out) and at the bottom of a page under the text, which some people say you can suppress those. (but not on the lock screen) Also know that for $15 or $20 you can have customer service remove the ad-supported, which frees it to behave as though the original owner didn't save that money by getting it ad-supported. Some people say that if you are a good Amazon customer and/or the customer service person is in a good mood, then they might do it for free, but no guarantees. Get Amazon customer service clicking on Help at the low end of an Amazon page and answer all the questions as "no, its something else" until they offer a chat with a representative/agent.Also know that for $15 or $20 you can have customer service remove the ad-supported, which frees it to behave as though the original owner didn't save that money by getting it ad-supported.
