- Answer Yes, it will store a LOT of books for off-line reading. Any books you bought with your Kindle account should still be available to you. I'd call Amazon about that. If you use the same user account on a new Kindle all those books should show up in your library for downloading.

QuestionI have never had one of these hope my questions are not stupid. Can you change the font sizes and such? How much does it cost for these subscriptions? Do e-books come with the same illustrations and photos that paper books have?

- Answer Zippie, I'm a new Kindle user so pulled out mine. 1) Yes, you can change the font size and style. You can change the orientation, margins, alignment and spacing. 2) There is a way to get free subscriptions but I haven't figured out how yet--I know I cannot get any Apple News or subscriptions I have through Apple. 3) So far, the books I've read have the same illustrations and photos. I do know some books--such as textbooks are not all compatible with Kindle or other electronic formats --but some are, usually before downloading a book the information will say what platforms it is readable on--if it doesn't say Kindle you won't be able to read on Kindle. Reading on it takes a little getting use to but overall I've been pleased with it. There is also a way to bookmark and take notes--which I haven't done. I use my iPad if I'm reading something I want to take notes and bookmark sections. I have the Signature Edition ---saying I don't know the difference from other Kindles.

- Answer There is not a monthly fee for the Kindle itself. You purchase books and other items to load. Local libraries do have some e-books available. There are some sites for free books. If you're Amazon Prime there are low to no-cost books available every month. As I understand you pay extra one-time fee for not having ads. I have Signature Edition so don't have ads.

QuestionI am having trouble getting my Kindle to display the book I'm reading. When I open the case I get the "swipe to unlock Kindle" message. I do so and the book I'm currently reading shows and the upper right corner of the cover show 7% but won't open

- Answer Not sure because I'm new to Kindle. I have a PaperWhite Signature Edition--I believe you have to set this in the settings. You can choose for the book to open to the last page read or to the beginning and then you scroll to find where you left off.

- Answer There are no apps on the Paperwhite Kindle. But if you have the Libby App on your phone you can have it download the book to your Paperwhite ... though I have not done this personally - I'm married to a librarian.

The formats that the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition supports are Kindle Format 8 (AZW3), Kindle (AZW), TXT, PDF, unprotected MOBI, PRC natively; HTML DOC, DOCX, JPEG, GIF, PNG, PMP through conversion; Audible audio format (AAX).
