- Answer Yes, you will need to update your motherboards bios/UEFI to run this newer CPU. I updated my MSI 320 to an ASRock B450M PRO4 AM4 for the upgrade, as I sold the Motherboard and CPU to another user.

Questioncurrently have a AMD Ryzen 3 (2nd gen) , can I install this product (AMD Ryzen 5) without issue and without purchasing anything else. Notices that the Ryzen 3 is only a 4 Pin and this is 8 Pin , not too sure if it will work

- Answer You do not say what motherboard you are trying to install this chip into, that would have been a better question. I had a AMD Ryzen 3 2200G in an ASRock B450M PRO4 AM4 motherboard, replaced the CPU with a Ryzen 3 3200G and after bios/UEFI update it worked well, finally I replaced the CPU with a Ryzen 5 3400G. Really do not know what you are referring to 4 vs 8 pin. AM4 motherboards are compatible with all three CPU's in this range, and many more Ryzen chips. Ryzen 3 2200G Ryzen 3 3200G Ryzen 5 3400G JR

- Answer The artwork on the 2400G and the 3400G are very similar. Please note that even though this is a 3000 series processor, it is based on the 2nd Gen Zen architecture (2000 series). Similarly, the 2400G is based on the 1st Gen Zen architecture (1000 series).

- Answer I would say no I can not locate the A4 motherboard you are discussing, I would believe you need a newer AMD CPU Socket AM4 (Launched in 2017)...
