It does create a "new" network by receiving the primary signal from your router. When you look at available networks, you'll see it listed as an extension of your primary. During setup, you'll enter the password that you use to access your primary router. You'll then choose which one to connect to. Very easy.

At setup, you will be prompted to create your own passwords to protect it as well. The existing network will still be visible and the reception will not change. This booster receives the same signal, then rebroadcasts it.

Please try again later.Aftwr you setup you create your own user and password first you need to route it to the router you use at home the user name n password then you set up your own that what u use I hook up my extender to my laptop set it up then disconnect just leave extended wifi in outlet read directions when u see pop upon screen for wifi either use disk or go website for u wifi. .also make sure before buy the old router you are using what model examole I call cable they told me my landlord running a ac1750 so I got 1750 do not use what less then your router at home you get no wifi I try it and it barley works. I think u can use ac1200 that what cable told me get get but reason I got ac1750 was on sale cheaper then ac1200 don't worry about name brand for router any wifi work as long as u get the required AC number
