That is all I use. I use the gallon size freezer bags with the double zipper closure. This type bag lets you evacuate just about all the air out of the bag. I don't use the slider type bags because they don't close as well.

Make sure the tops are securely closed, the bag squeezed free of as much air as possible (easy to do that IN the pot if the temp isn't too high) and ideally the bag top attached to the side of the pot (food FULLY SUBMERGED) by a binder clip or clothespin.
