A:Answer Since power is usually going out during a storm, I unplug my computer anyway. I use a UPS to keep it from getting electrical surges and to give me time to shut it down correctly if I'm tardy in doing that. Having said that, it depends on how much you have connected to it, but you need to think in terms of minutes, not hours. Maybe fifteen to twenty-five minutes. But again, that is my estimate, your mileage may vary. PS, you could always unplug from the wall and see :-).
