Q: QuestionIs it good enough to provide few seconds of back up power and provide power surge protection ?
Asked by Papucho.
- A:Answer A UPS is the BEST surge protection you can get. Think of the battery as a buffer between the input power line and your device. You are converting AC to DC for the battery storage and getting your operating power from the battery through an inverter. Nothing better. The backup time it offers is a factor of the size of the UPS and the device(s) you are running off it. A large screen TV on an 850 - 900W UPS will get you 10 - 15 minutes of backup.
