• Washing them will ruin them. That’s not the same as sweaty or caught in rain storm.

• They are not water prooof, so if fully submerged it is doubtable they would be fine. You can always try rice if you do, maybe you'll get lucky. I'd recommend not leaving them in pants! I keep them in my laptop case, never in my pocket unless I have too.
