Yes, you can place it on a bike. It can be tracked anywhere on the globe using the Find My app, and Precision Finding will turn on once your iPhone (11 or 12) is within BT range, leading you directly to the AirTag.

There are several factors to consider here: Size - The AirTag is about 1.26 inches in diameter and 0.31 inches in height (32mm / 8 mm respectively)... So does your bicycle have an are in which you can hide an object that size? Accessibility - The AirTag battery is user replaceable. It will supposedly last over a year but at some moment you'll want to get at it to replace it. So consider this when determining both location and method of fixing it to your bike. Unwanted Tracking Prevention - This is a neat privacy/security feature to prevent people from tracking other people without their knowledge... In your use case, if the thief happens to have an iPhone or iPad with him the device may detect that it has been "traveling with someone else other than the owner" and alert them that they may be being tracked. It will provide them with the ability to easily disable the AirTag at that moment. In terms of Range, it's pretty much unlimited... It uses a special private network (Apple's "Find My" Network) that leverages everyone's Apple devices (privately)... So, as long as there's an Apple device nearby (within about 100m), you would be able to get a rough location of the AirTag... If you come close enough and have a newer Apple device (like an iPhone 11 or older) then you will also get to use "Precision Finding" (which will tell you how far and which direction to move towards). Of course you'll have to use a personal device for the recovery as the AirTag will be linked to your apple ID.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, as long as you have a place to hide in, like in a welded cup holder, you can make a pocket for it, and if you can't do that you can hid it in the seat.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes it can be attached to a bike and found if stolen, there is no range limitation, location is piggybacked (securely) off other peoples apple products and then when you get close it uses your phone to pin down the exact location
