• yes. You can buy the dog collar attachments that hold them in place. They would work in the same way. Found some on eBay

• It worked, attached to a wrist watch band, to keep track of my Mom, who has some memory problems, and we didn't want her wandering away from the family reunion. Should work fine for kids too.
