It’s my understanding that it’s only limited to cell service or access to other apple devices. I easily tracked a bag across the Denver airport and was able to retrieve it in the lost baggage area in a matter of minutes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I traveled a week ago, and used a tag in my bag. I was connected until the attendants ask me when i got on the plane if you have any devices, they need to be disabled until you land, (airplane mode will disconnect the device) I forgot to turn it off on the way home, until they asked the passengers on the plane, once aboard, to turn your phones to airplane mode! My bag was in the cargo hood and never disconnected until I disabled it! As soon as you enable it, it connects! I’m not sure what the actual distance is…but the tag is on my dresser now and I don’t get an alert that my bag has been left behind, until I’m driving down my driveway ( approx 350 ft)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not 100% percent sure but I think as long it is near a device (does not have to be yours). This is because the way it works is it uses the gps of a nearby device (or something like that, I don’t work at Apple). Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My understanding is that it travels as far as there are towers.
