Yes. If you can afford to actually purchase and compare out of the store a Bose SoundTouch 10 and 20 or JBL extreme. The HomePod is definitely worth the money$$$

I did wait for it... worked seamlessly with evey Apple I have used it with so far except Apple TV or Apple Watch. Been buying all Apple since The Apple GS made its debut in 1986... i can be working on one of the iPads or an AudoCad drawing on the iMac and say hey Siri, then ask a question without having to go to Safari in most most cases but not all...

The Bose SoundTouch 30 and Sonos Play:5 have comparable sound quality and cost $150 more. The Bose SoundTouch 20 costs the same and sound quality is not even close. While not for everyone (it is mainly for those in Apple's ecosystem), the HomePod is priced well for the sound quality you get. Siri's smart functions do not compare well to the more functional Amazon Echo, but there are no speakers with Amazon Echo integration that sound better than HomePod for this price. Sonos One sounds great for what it is, but it's not at HomePod's level. Two Songs Ones, paired as a stereo set, will set you back $400, a bit more than HomePod. That may come close to this value for you if you are not an Apple fan. There are no speakers on the market that sound better than HomePod at this price point, so just based on that, it is fairly priced.
