Sim card and SD card are two different things. The sim card makes the device work with the cellular carrier. YES, this phone comes with a pre-installed sim card and the box includes all of the information to activate the phone before ever getting it out of the shrinkwrap. This device does NOT have the option of SD cards to expand on device storage capacity. How do I know? I own 4 of them!
