• A:Answer No. It’s only eligible to be unlocked after it has been paid in full, and if your AT&T wireless account is in good standing. Once it’s completely paid off, they will let you know that you’re eligible to have it unlocked and will offer to send the unlock service key.

• A:Answer Usually your info can be transferred if you have the same family of phone (iPhone). They can help you with that in the store or you can call AT&T. No contract is necessary unless you pay for the phone monthly. Not sure if you can pay with PayPal.

• A:Answer When doing my research, I believe you can do a down payment in which you pay some upfront towards the total cost of the phone and your monthly payments will be lower depending on how much you pay upfront. I did not do this though so I'm not 100% sure on it. Seemed like an option to have lower payments. Basically like buying a car or house in that sense.

• A:Answer Yes, but you can use one from an older phone to make it easier to keep the same phone number and transfer data. The new sim card can go into an old compatible phone. I put my iPhone 7 SIM card in a new XR, moving the phone number to the new phone. The new SIM card went into the iPhone 7 and I gave it a different phone number from a phone I retired.
