“Does the M2 Pro/16G/512G version have one of the infamous slower 512 SSD chip or does it have two 256G SSD chips running in parallel that are faster and better performing?”

From what I understand, if it has a 512Gb SDD listed then it has two (2) NAND storage chips, which would be about the speed of a typical PCIe3 NVMe (approx 3GB/s). It seems the more chips, the faster. Therefore the 256GB SSD is the slowest at approx. 50% of that and the 1TB SSD is approx. 50% faster. There seem to be no plans by Apple to correct this.
