The Apple setup process offers to transfer files from your old computer to the new MacBook Air. You have to install a transfer support program on the old computer and then connect the two systems to the same WiFi network. You then select what to transfer. Since my important files are already on Google drive and/or MS One Drive, I skipped that step in the Apple setup and then installed the software to mount those drives as network locations.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was a Window user for years before switching to Mac. There are differences but I have found Mac more user friendly. When you are setting up your Mac you have an opportunity to do a file transfer. I do highly recommend you back up your files to a cloud server or another device other than your computer so should there be an issue you could download these flies from there. I run MSFT 365 using Word, Excel, Power Point with no issues. Adobe also. There are some apps that do not run on a Mac so you will need to see if all you use can operate on a Mac. File transfers are normally easy but you must hard connect or be on the same WIFI. Good luck with you decision.
