It should definitely be compatible. You do have to sync the pencil to the new iPad though.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not think Apple ever made a PEN. Do not buy anything that is a PEN. Only buy an Apple Pencil. There are generic devices on the market that work on iPads as the Apple Pencil does.
