Is this compatible with 3rd generation iPad? null

If you are talking about the iPad 3, then no, it won't work. The pencils only begin working with the 6th gen (basic) ipad and most iPad Pros. Check with the Apple site for compatibility, though, as your iPad may be something other than the very early iPad 3.
