“All the reviews talk about this like it's just a charge cable. Has anyone actually used it for an eGPU or dock that can actually speak to its speed performance? I know .8m wouldn't kill performance but trying to decide between this and an active cable.”

Yes. Works great between a 2018 Mac Mini and an RX-580 eGPU! Just long enough to work with the eGPU on an under desk shelf.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use it for my recording gear and my external drives works great! Just make sure that you are using a USB C THUNDERBOLT 3, not a regular USB C. I had the same problem and try to explain people that they are two different types of cables.Hope it works out, good luck.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This cable is closer to USB 2 speed. I bought this cable thinking all USB-C cables were the same, wrong. If you want high speed go with Thunderbolt 3.
