But if the TV is not "smart," or if its computer is too puny, then yes, I believe you'll need some sort of device, that will connect with the WIFI signal coming from the router (rented from AT&T or Comcast?) in your home. This device, like an Apple TV or Roku Premiere, connects with your TV via an HDMI cable (which, with Apple TV, you have to buy separately).
