You don’t need to buy a crazy expensive HDMI 4K cable however do you want to make sure you’re getting a good quality HDMI cable. That is specifically for 4K TVs and adapters because not only does the Apple TV come with 4K it also comes with HDR both have to send significantly more amounts of video across the cable then the HDMI cables that were rated for 1080p. If you don’t get one lots of good quality you run the risk of sluggish video because cheap HDMI cables are made of cheap material and may get clogged up with up to four times the amount of video that they were designed to be used with
