No, YouTube TV does not send out its content in surround sound but in stereo 2.0!

Yes, if you have surround sound system now, just need to connect Apple TV directly to that surround system. In my case I connected the HDMI cable directly from Apple TV into my surround sound receiver which controls all the sound for each source.
