Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is only one kind of cable fitting that will fit the Apple TV, it is HDMI. The TV will need a HDMI or DVI input to take advantage of the Apple TV's HDMI output. Therefore you could use a cable that has HDMI on both ends or a cable that has HDMI on one end and DVI on the other. If you use this last cable, you will need to add an optical cable to carry the sound from Apple TV to the TV (if the TV has an optical "in") because DVI does not pass sound (even though it is picked up from the HDMI at the Apple TV end). If your TV doesn't have an optical "in", you will need to take the optical cable to your sound system (if you have a separate setup - if you don't you will need to acquire one to hear anything the Apple TV plays). This setup can get cumbersome because you would need to switch your sound system to the optical input from the Apple TV if you switch your TV to watch Apple TV. One final point: NO optical cable and sound system are necessary with a double ended HDMI cable because it passes video AND sound information within it.
