I took the Series 3 with GPS only. First using the cellular feature on series 3 watches places a major hit on the battery so expect more frequent charging. With the new processor and not having the cellular feature gives you a significant advantage on lengthening the time between battery charges. For example my wife's series 2 needs a battery charge almost every 24-30 hours. My series 3 with GPS and no cellular requires battery charging every 48-52 hours dependent upon screen activity.

I’ve had the Series 2 with only GPS for two years and haven’t felt the need to get the watch with cellular. So much so I’ve upgraded to the Series 4 with GPS.
