• No it can't, because it's where the exhaust comes out of the unit it needs to expel the heat away, otherwise the A/C unit won't be efficient and it might damage it.

• Yes you can if the room isn't hotter than about 83° The window kit helps suction out the hot air in that room and distributes it outside so it maintains cool inside.
