• A:Answer On the picture itself, there is no timestamp, but there is in the library where the recordings are stored. Also, you get an e-mail when a recording is taken, which does have the time in it,

Q: QuestionWhere do get the batteries onlineWe have two camers but four batteries only lasted a month and the 2 batteries each cost $12-$14.That's expensive so can you guys help me and find a website that has rechargable batteries

• A:Answer Rechargeable batteries are not recommended according to Netgear. It's also noted on their documentation that it could void the warranty. However, you can get some rechargeable batteries on Amazon at really cheap price. Battery Types: CR123 or CR123a. Don't fall for the ultra cheap rechargeable batteries. you get what you pay for. None of the big brand names (Enegizer, Duracell) make rechargeables i am aware of. Try at your own risk.

Q: QuestionData QuestionDoes this system eat up a lot of data while in use? The reason why I ask this is because we currently have an internet plan that does NOT have unlimited data. Will the cameras need to use data while they are running? Or will the system only require data use when the actual footage is being reviewed on smart phone or computer?

• A:Answer I only access with my data on cell phone if I get a text message stating it grabbed activity. If you are out and about and using it indoors and want to check on your dog real quick it shouldn't eat too much data if you are not using the live feed too long. The cameras you can set up to record a certain amount of time when it sees motion. Mine is set at 40 seconds right now so it doesn't use that much. It stores the videos on their site and you have the option to download if you want or just delete them. It is a pretty nice little camera set up. Do you have a router at home?

Q: QuestionWill the system notify the user..............................upon movement? Say I'm traveling on business and I'm using the cameras to watch my home including the front door and UPS/FEDEX leaves me a package. The movement detection should capture the activity, but can the system be set up to notify me automatically that the activity occurred or do I have to manually review the photo captures??????

• A:Answer *Speaking from iPhone* Yes, the Arlo app will automatically notifies you as soon as there is motion detected. The cameras begin recording (if you set them that way). You can set up multiple devices to receive the alerts too. You can get the through notifications and/or emails. Once you open the app, you can go directly to the camera to see realtime while it's still recording and go back once it's done recording and watch what triggered the motion. There is no delay with the notifications and they are also actionable. When you swipe open the notification, it automatically opens the Arlo app. Those notifications are also pushed to my Pebble smart watch.

• A:Answer "REAL-TIME" as far as the internet (cloud) allows. There is processing time involved... movement triggers the camera, from your camera, to your NetGear Base Station, to your Modem/Router, to NetGear server computers (known by the marketing term "The Cloud") for processing. Then the "real -time" it takes to get back to you, either using a smartphone and the servers email you, then you view on your phone or the time it takes to get back to your computer browser. That is the REAL-TIME/Instant you get. As fast as it takes all of this to happen depends on the internet speed and server processing... seconds to minutes - all "REAL-TIME & VARIABLE" - best that can happen if you want "Instant Satisfaction".

• A:Answer Yes - BUT, 2 issues 1) camera must be close enough to base for good wireless and video quality. 2) motion detection is too slow, by the time it starts recording, vehicle has already passed, so no plate is captured.

Q: QuestionCan you set up the cameras at say a vacation home that has no internet connection and moniter it from your home with internet 500 miles away?we have a vacation home in another state 500 miles away. It has electricity but no internet. we would like to monitor our vacation home while at our house that does have internet.

• A:Answer Yes, the free program allows five camera's per base. We had to re sync two of the three existing camera's when we added the two new devices and then they all worked.

Q: QuestionSo how well does the camera react to record once motion is detected? Im really debating whether to purchase the product, I dont want to buy something worth hundreds of dollars if it cant even simply capture motion as soon as its detected.

• A:Answer There is NO WIRELESS CAMERA out anywhere that gets this good video/photos period. The quality is unbeatable as far as security is concerned. The slight drawback is that you cannot record a 30 minute intrusion without breaks. Camera is not designed nor intended for continuous video. The battery would deplete in a day if it could. You have set times for recording from a few seconds to 2 minutes. Remembering that 4 minutes a day should keep the camera working for over 3 months. You also have options on how sensitive the motion detection is. Remembering that an object going across the cameras field of view will trip much faster than an object coming toward the camera. How you position the camera will make a big difference on motion triggering. However, mine all had absolutely no problems. I have read reviews about how it does not trip with motion, but I will bet anything it boils down to operator error. I say, its not that it doesn't work, it's more like they don't know how to make it work. 'Taint rocket science.

Up to 10GB) Up to 10 cameras Unlimited Support. For $14.99/month you can get the Elite subscription60 Days of video memories in cloud (Records when motion/event detected. Up to 100GB) Up to 15 cameras Unlimited Support. I have Basic and the 1gb sometimes is only 1 to 2 days of recordings if alot of motion. Ring Stick Up camera has cloud storage that it is 6 months of unlimited storage and only $30/year. Plus its batteries are rechargeable and supposed to last 6 to 12 months. Each Arlo camera takes four CR123 batteries, in which i use about 32 a month ehich adds uo to $70 per month for batteries. The cost for Ring is more upfront but you will save in the long run. Also Ring Stick Up camera has a 2 way radio to communicate with someone on camera.and Arlo has no audio capabilities. Consider all that if you havent bought it yet.

• A:Answer Yes, the cameras connect wirelessly to the Arlo base station which in turns connects to the Arlo cloud server through your ISP. To see the video on your phone/tablet, you'd use their app to connect to the Arlo server over the Internet. I'm experiencing 5-10 second delays for "live" videos. Recorded videos are stored on the cloud, so the app just pulls them from the cloud.

Q: QuestionIs there any way to adjust the delay when the camera starts on motion?A lot of recordings have no movement in them because of the delay of the camera starting, also it just records for 10 seconds, even when there is constant movement longer than that, is there a way to extend recording time.

• A:Answer Under 'mode', you can define a mode (basically a set of rules) and define or edit the rules around each camera. When you define a rule for a camera (for example your front driveway camera), you can set it so that if it detects motion, it should record for x amount of seconds and set you an email and/or push notification. The default recording time is 10 seconds I believe. I set mine to 30 seconds, which seems to be enough to capture most activity.
