“Will this item work with a wireless router, with Frontier DSL and in the Dish system? Also, why does my power supply from my old modem not fit this one? The plug in portion from my old modem is too small for this one. Thanks.”

It certainly works with a wireless router. I doubt it works with Frontier or Dish. Do not use a different power supply; use the one that comes with the new modem.

They then sent me a list of modems, including this one, to buy on my own so I could avoid the perpetual monthly modem charge. They don't allow you buy the one they give you, as I guess that instead of just buying your own and hooking it up (1 minute) and giving them the new serial #) people will be lazy and continue paying the monthly charge. I have a separate Netgear router. I would take a few pictures of your setup with your phone and go to BestBuy and talk to one of the tech guys. I have done this in the past and they were more than happy to advise me on what is best.
