A:AnswerThe Arris .com website is correct the Arris 1600 is a 8 x 4 channel bonding unit. Arris does make a 16 x 4 channel bonding unit. It is a little more expensive.and in my opinion is worth the extra expenditure. 8 X 4 technology is older technology. If you want better streaming with lesser buffering issues, go with the higher 16 x 4 channel bonding.
A:AnswerYes, this will broadcast both a 2.4 GHz and a 5 GHz wireless signal at the same time. You can set up different SSID (network names) and different passwords for each. Or, you can use the built-in load balancing technology which shifts devices between the two bands. The latter approach uses a single SSID and just one password.
