This modem has been great. The user interface I find is better than netgears, and the speeds are as well. I’ve benched mark 2.4g around 431mb and my Ethernet at 731mv all while my network video security cameras are running Continuously . This modem also has 4 gigabyte lan ports which others do not. I’ve wired my home for Ethernet for my Xbox down stairs and both desktops and have had no issues. The modem does 5g as well but 5g doesn’t go through walls very well for any router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Nicky, SBG8300 is a good choice to replace your existing gateway as SBG8300 is based on the latest DOCSIS 3.1 technology and is compatible for speed tiers of upto 1 Gbps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My Arris SBG8300 modem+router gives me 205 to 240 mbps using the comcast Blast! Service ( Blast! is supposed to provide a 200 mbps). I am happy with this unit. It is capable of 1000 mbps but my service does what it has to do--2 smartphones, 2 desktops, 2 laptops, 2 smartTVs are all connecting as needed. The SBG8300 costs around $300 @ Bestbuy. If your current setup is cutting out for no reason and Comcast could not find a technical reason for your issue you might try this.. Reset your modem and/or router to factory settings by finding that tiny hole on the back of the unit(s) and pressing inward with a paperclip or tiny nail. Some units won't reset any admin login-id/passwords so know them before doing the factory resets.
