Buy the modem. Plug it up and turn it on. Call Cox and tell them you'd like to provision a new modem and then give them the HFC MAC ID found on the box or the back/bottom of the modem If they know what they're doing, the call should take no more than 5-10min.

You will need to contact Cox Cable and tell them you are switching from use of their modem to this unit. They will require certain number information from your unit (should you decide to purchase this one). Once you give them that numeric information, plug the cable cord into the jack on the back of unit and then plug it into your computer, you should be able to use it fine. If not, call the device company direct and they are more than helpful in helping you get it set up.

At the most they can get the information needed from you over the phone which shouldn't be more than the serial number and MAC address all printed on the documentation that comes with the unit.

Please try again later.call your service provider before you buy to make sure they will authorize your unit. some service providers require that you use there modem. charter in Clarksville will not let you use anything other there unit not because its not compatible because they wont you to rent there's. it varies from provider to provider
