“I just got ASUS X553SA laptop. It was working well but now I get a "critical error: start menu and Cortana aren't working. We'll try to fix it nextyou Error message saying start menu and Cortana aren't working. We'll try it fix it next time you sign in." then it says to Sign out. Needless to say that doesn't work. help me. I am not a computer geek.I can't get into anything.”

Try right clicking on the start menu and restart the laptop from there. When it comes back up you should have access to the start menu again by left clicking. Hope this helps.
